Crazy George Schlitz

There is no other performer in the United States who embodies the craziness of an Oktoberfestival more than Crazy George. A one man show like no other will perform all weekend throughout the Duluth Oktoberfestival grounds and will undoubtedly put you in the correct frame of mind as you enter the festival.  This is the one man you won’t be able to miss.

Dance Attic

Duluth locals Suzi Ludwig (accordion, vocals) and Jimi Cooper (guitar, ukulele, vocals) team up to bring you Dance Attic. Their set list consists of many originals and old favorites ranging from old time country and polka to Italian and Norwegian instrumental pieces. Although their original music is hard to pin down to a particular genre, it is packed with old-time charm and fun.

Elk River German Band

The Elk River German Band was formed about 30 years ago when several musicians assembled to play the classic Bavarian style of German music in their local community of, you guessed it, Elk River, MN. Since then, the band has grown to ten musicians including nine instrumentalists and a female vocalist. Come see them for yourself as they help kick off the Duluth Oktoberfestival on Friday, September 13!

Kerry Christensen

Kerry Christensen is not your typical yodeler.  Kerry spent two years in the country of Austria right out of high school where he became interested in the alpine yodeling art.  After mastering this difficult medium he was asked in l983 to move his six member family to Orlando, Florida and use his yodeling skills at Walt Disney World’s Epcot Center.  He is now considered one of the best yodelers in the nation, touring around various German, Swiss, Austrian, Cowboy, Country and Scandanavian festivals around North America, including our very own Duluth Oktoberfestival!

Oktoberfest All Stars

The Oktoberfest All Stars are a part of a larger group called the “Singing Slovenes”, who are known as, “Minnesota’s Ambassadors of Traditional Slovenian Music” and have been performing together for almost 40 years.  Under the leadership of Director, Frank Bucar, and Assistant Director, Mary Spehar White, they are anchored by All Star Accordionist, Joe Jagunich.  Many of their songs have the flavoring of the “Oberkrainer” style bands from Slovenia who play predominately in Germany and Austria.  Whether they are performing Oktoberfest style music or traditional Slovenian music, you will enjoy their lively music and high energy.

Formed in 2017, the Polkarobics rose to the demand for polka and Oktoberfest music in the Duluth area. Suzi Ludwig and Jimi Cooper of Dance Attic are joined by Veikko Lepisto on bass and Brad Nelson on drums. They play a wide variety of polkas and waltzes including favorites like Tavern in the Town, Beer Barrel Polka, and much more.

Winzige Hosen

Have you ever wondered what would happen if Gogol Bordello had a date with Frankie Yankovic in a beer hall? Well you might end up with something like Winzige Hosen. With Brian Schanzenbach on accordion and Kala Shepersky on tuba, they bring the classic polka sound and mix it in with the rock and punk styles of Luke Nyen and Abe Curran on guitar, Nikki Moeller on bass, Al Bastien on drums and Patrick Sunderland on trumpet. This polka-punk band is sure to keep our bier hall rocking!
